Sebastián Llapur is an Argentinean-born TV announcer and voice actor who is now a naturalized Mexican citizen and is currently living in Mexico. When he was only 20 years old, he went looking for new professional horizons to the city of Córdoba, Argentina, and sometime later, he left his homeland to seek his fortune in other countries. He came to Mexico, where he had to struggle against the challenge of being a foreigner, but with the passing of time, Sebastián has achieved a very respectable career in voice acting and in dubbing films and shows into Spanish for Latin America.
He’s mainly known for voicing humorous characters, like the saber tooth tiger Diego, from the Ice Age movie series, but he has interpreted dramatic characters as well. His versatile voice can register a wide range of tones and pitches. His voice acting debut in Mexico was as the voice of Bruce, the shark, in Finding Nemo.
One of his best-known roles has been as Marcus Fenix, the main character in the video game Gears of War. Other major roles include: Duck Dodgers in the eponymous animated series, Jim in According to Jim, Quico in El Chavo: The Animated Series, Eduardo in Foster’s Home for Imaginary Friends, Thorin Oakenshield in the film saga The Hobbit, Diego from the second film of the Ice Age series, and multiple voices of supporting characters in the Simpsons, all of them recorded in Mexico. Since May 2015, he is the official voice of Darth Vader in Latin America.
