Pearl Stickler found Star Trek/science fiction fandom in November of 1972 and she's been crazed ever since. She was elected President of S.T.A.R. San Diego in 1975, holding that position for numerous years. Pearl created and chaired both America's Quincentennial Celebration in 1976 and Whattacon '79.
She organized, with Jean Graham, A Day With Paul Darrow and Blake's Revels, a 3-day Blake's 7 convention. She ran several mini-cons out of her condo, CondoCon, for her friends. She took over the chairmanship of ConDor in 1996, leading the convention committee for over 20 years. During her 50+ years in fandom, she's organized costume contests, picnics, parties, clubs, and more.
Those years have also seen fan fiction written and published, drawings in fanzines, 3D art in art shows, costumes in contests and hallways, six fanzines edited and published, and vending has been done. And to top off the craziness, there were 20+ years of wrangling San Diego Comic-Con Masquerade contestants as their Den-Grandmama. She's a jack-of-all fannish trades and a master of none.
