Professor Michael Dennin holds a Ph.D. in physics from the University of California, Santa Barbara. He is a professor of physics and astronomy at the University of California, Irvine, and is also the current Vice Provost for Teaching and Learning and the Dean of the Division of Undergraduate Education. His popular course on “The Science of Superheroes” at UCI introduces students to the process of evaluating scientific validity. Professor Dennin also appears on a number of programs on the History Channel, and serves as the superhero scientist on the web series “Fascinating Fights” and has published a book on science and religion: Divine Science: Finding Reason at the Heart of Faith (Franciscan Media). His research focuses on the behavior of foam (such as shaving cream) and other complex fluids and questions of mechanics in biology (such as how particles enter the bloodstream through the lungs).
