I started in comics with The Gargoyle mini-series in the mid-eighties. Along with Greenberg the Vampire and Martian Manhunter, I bounced around Marvel and DC. My run on American Flagg is remembered fondly by a few. I got really good with Batman: Jazz and Batman: Run Riddler Run. Unfortunately, they were also an aesthetic bridge too far from mainstream folks.
A few decades of non-profit work, union organizing, web design and instruction has now settled into doing my own stories at “the corner where Kirby, Modernism, politics, and Buddhism meet” Come see the first issue of Badgetoons, an ongoing series from me at my table.
Like all of you, I have created many monsters in my head. Sometimes I defeated them; sometimes, they have schmucked me. Hopefully, I can help you beat a few of your own monsters.
