The Consciousness of Jack Kirby Part Two -- How Jack Kirby saved the world (Garden Salon II)
Barry Ira Geller is the only person who worked hand upon hand with Jack Kirby co-designing illustrations for a theatrical film project. Known as the Kirby/Geller Lord of Light drawings, they were originally made for the film to be based upon Geller's screenplay of the Roger Zelazny book, of which he had bought the literary Rights. The drawings were the only architectural renderings ever created by Jack and were the basis for the plans of a Disneyland-type Theme Park, known as Science Fiction Land, to be built in Colorado. They were inked by Mike Royer, who has commented he felt they were Jack's best work. Most people though know them as the actual drawings used by the CIA in the 1979 Iranian Crisis that saved six American lives in the True-Life mission called.... ARGO. "Not bad, Jack!"
